Emily Irene VanCamp, who was originally a professional dancer, became interested in the acting field when she hung out with her sibling Katie at The Ladies Room set. As she took acting classes, she also landed part-time roles in Canadian television series. The TV shows she was a part of include Do You afraid to be in the Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp's career took off after he was cast in the role of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. The series was canceled after 9 episodes and despite receiving favorable ratings. The 12th of May, 1986 actress was quickly offered a second part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the main characters. In this role, she was the one that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and as well as four Teen Choice Awards.
